"Focused on Breeding Healthy Top Quality Nubian & Alpine Dairy Goats"
Welcome to Hazy Day, we are located in southern New Brunswick just outside of the town of Sussex. We are a breeder of dairy goats, focused on breeding healthy top quality Nubian & Alpines that can pefrom well in both the show ring and milk pail.
Our herd is raised on CAE prevention. All births are attended and kids are removed at birth. Kids are raised on pasteurized milk in free choice lambbars. Our herd is also CL free. Here at Hazy Day we have very high standards when it comes to what we put into our animals, this strict feeding program has shown to provide us with a healthy herd and little to no health problems.
When it comes to feeding our animals, I don't believe grain makes the animal. So the highest standards of care, research, and quality are carried out in our herd to provide us with a healthy dairy animal that is preforming to their genetic best. Our grain for the herd is either a Purina 16 coarse milk enhancer or Purina 18 checkers milk enhancer, depending on the stage of lactation and body condition of the doe. Our hay is a red clover mix. Along with free choice hay, our herd has 8 acres of red clover and browse to graze from early spring until first snow. In each barn we have loose minerals, free choice to our herd with baking soda mixed in for better pH levels in their rumens.
We are now the proud new co-owners of the CGS 2009 Semen Program Alpine buck! Pleasant Grove Mink Maestro is co-owned with Little Creek Hill Alpines.
Exciting news from show season 2009! CH Caprix Orion Dezeerah VG86/86 earned her final leg towards her championship which makes her now a perament grand champion!
The HazyDay herd's Nubians have become the ones to beat in the show ring! Taking top placings with every class entered and Senior champions at every show! HazyDay Set Me Free won all but one junior championship which was given to her half sister sired by a homebred buck! (HazyDay Midnight Madness Spirit)
Our Alpines have been doing very well in the show ring staying at the top two placings in most classes. It is an honnor to keep up with the Little Creek Hill Alpines.
